I will let those that wish to speculate on how the 1911 $ 2 1/2 dollar gold piece came to rest where it did, do so.

Meanwhile, I'll congratulate Philo_NY :clapping: on an awesome find that most will never ever experience. And finding all of the other period coins as well is frosting on the cake.

I have hunted with Phil and I know where he found it.This spot is in deep woods and when get a target you know it's old ,almost nothing modern here.
