Thanks for all the replies. Maybe I'm mistaken but I recall reading ads that say it will work for prospecting and that it totally ignores mineralized ground. I understand that a gold machine obviously will work better, but it sounds like I'm not going to be able to use this on river ground. My Whites absolutely will not work because there are hot rocks everywhere. I just can't find a ground balance that will work. Thanks for your help.
As for the Sovereign, is it the double D coil that is the problem and can I use a mono coil instead? I know my old Whites will pick a BB at a few inches, so now I'm worried that I have made the wrong detector decision. Will a five inch coil do any better in mineralized ground/hot rocks?
