We're still hitting two parts of the park where a lot of dumping occurred during the turn of the century. We were at the site that leads to the bridge that crosses you to City Island, which was established in the mid 1600's. Hunting buddy JR, got a nice large sterling silver stick pin of the friends of peace dated 1915 the day before, it has a man on his knees, shackled, and multiple symbols around him. Today, JR also got an old hotel skeleton key complete with its brass plate room number and hotel name from New York...

As you can see here, most of the coins are Barbers, with many wheats, and a few Indians, an old trolly token for Orchard Beach, and one of the best looking spoons to come out of the site... A Silver Tea Spoon, Made in England, by Schoifield, Scollop Design, NICE... 1800's design and was right on top under the leaves...

As our hunting day was endding, we had not met up with any silver, well except for the spoon... JR was walking out, and as I scanned an area where I had gotton a Standing Liberty tow years ago, I got this real sweet, soft, high tone, and my MindLab target hairs were in the high right hand corner... Now I really know what a real deepie sounds like, well, between a large root at about 16" I lost the signal and removed two more inches to 18", yes, at least 18" out popped the 1900 Barber Quarter. I've said it so many times before, that using too much sensitivity will work against you because of stattic and falsing in certain areas, this was one of those areas, just becasue you use less sen.. it doesn't mean you lose depth, it just makes the Explorer more stable and eager to find targets... God bless all...
