Actually, it can detect brightness differences in stars which are signs of a planet eclipsing it's sun... I'm mainly into 'pretty' pictures at the moment. But, I would like to find an undiscovered asteroid. My luck it would be the doomsday on that hits Earth... Today, amatuer astronomers are able to obtain images as good or better than observatories did 20 years ago.

I guess you haven't priced 'good' astronomical quality lenses? Metal detecting is a cheap hobby when you compare it to astronomy and imaging.
As far as the ML Advantage, I did take a look at it on the web site and can say the prices is very good... a well kept secret? I will seriously consider it in the spring. Have you used the Explorer? How did is compare with your experience with the Explorer. I'll dig some foolers with the Explorer when I am try to get coins on the fringe of detection. Sometimes it a small piece of iron very deep. Then sometime it's a coin real deep. My hunting buddy talked to some other detectorist on Saturday that found a couple Seated and two Barbers dimes all in one hole but on the fringe of detection. So, Sunday we went out in that general area of the park and pounded it. I am sure they thought they had cleaned it out or they wouldn't have said anything... But, I came away with two very deep IH's, a deep 49 Rosie, 2 wheaties and some clad. God knows how clad gets as deep as older coins at some sites. There was just a tink tink even with deep on so I knew they were going to be deep holes. I just love a challenge over finding coins people have missed. The same thing happen last year. A gentlemen told my hunting buddy exactly where they had dug some old coins and basically said without saying they cleaned it out. I went in and found 2 Mercs, 2 Buffalos and 5 wheaties all in excess of 8 inches at minimum... all on the fringe of sounding off at all. HH!
