Re-tuned

I have read about 70 and 75 user's returning their machines to Fisher to be re-tuned, what exactly does this mean?

There is an upgrade program for the older F75's to bring them up to spec with the latest programming going on.
Nothing available for the F70, however, and I haven't heard of any other talk about any retune processes for these models.

I agree with REVIER, I haven't heard of any re-tune process, except for the upgrade on the F75's.

I would say if you have a machine that you think or know has problem you can contact FT and return the machine for a bench check and repair if needed.

Welcome to the forum and tells us more, what detector you have or are thinking about getting.

I've heard of the DD coils being re-tuned. Under the cover at the rear of the 11 x 7 coil are fine-tuning doohickeys (trimmer capacitor and small coil), and they can be re-set again, if the coil is 'out of spec'.
Other than that, the only 'tuning' adjustments inside an F75 are the 'Master Ground Balance' controls, which ensure the TID numbers are correct, and the GB values are consistent (eg. non-mineralised dirt ='90').

Been swinging an F70 around SE Ohio for a while now.Got back into it a few years ago after about a 10 hiatus, tend to enjoy it more now that life has slowed down.
