Take a look at this post of mine from the Explorer Classroom Forum. I provided a link to another site that has what you want. Also recommend that you read all the posts on this forum and that one. And go through everything on the website my link points to. He has some excellent stuff on the screens and crosshairs, just like you're looking for.

Enjoy Mikes post as he provides Eons of info...please take into consideration, coins next to junk, tipped, exceptionally deep, worn, may not fall in the proper area so the meter is just a tool along with tones and that digital screen which is tough to fool...Get a deeper iffie target play around with it before you dig and if in doubt go for it..Of all things got a 6 inch clad dime(bent) which played with my mind so I went for it..Always could have been a seated one so one never knows..Lots of info on the Explorer and Mike sure knows where to find it( tip of the hat for good research) and passing the info on...

And I should add that while I am TRYING to get into the Smartfind screen, for some reason I really find myslef preferring the Digital screen. And do also put a lot of stock in the tones. Maybe a throwback to my DFX days.

But I ALWAYS switch between the two, so I can learn what looks like what in comparison. Definitely more than one way to skin the Explorer cat.
