The Ground Probe will help you with the mineralization. Live Controls, Ground tracking then ZOOM. More on page 39 of your Owners manual. Also SEARCH this forum "Ground Probe" where a lot of good information was given on the subject.

Yup..ground probe is very useful.. I use it every time I go out. It gives you great information on what to set RX to for optimum settings. It's amazing to actually be able to see what I ought to be set up for rather than guessing.

The DFX will give you the VDI, but not the amount. The Ground Probe on the V3 will give you a signal loss reading that can help determine the level of mineralization.

Could you be more specific with qalche example?
once viewed the amount of signal lost as we proceed?

Significant signal loss, more than 30% would require higher filters and possibly a smaller DD coil.
