Went back to that place I've been hunting which has been giving up large cents. I managed to get another three today. The ground around here isn't always too kind to copper.

Here's the small cent keepers.......

And here's the large cents. It's always nice to break into the 1800's. :)

Below is that ring I dug up and straightened up. And sure enough....it's a cheapy.....

Great old finds!:thumbup:I love those large cents!:super:And a ring is a ring!:biggrin:Congrats!:cheers:Happy Hunting!

Imaging is sure a plus but even junk mimics the goodies....Certainly cuts down the odds but no sure fire method to tell a tab from a nice gold ring...

Congrats on the oldies !!!

Wouldn't it be great if a discrimination system was developed which good tell the difference between aluminum and gold. The first company to do that would do an incredible business selling those machines. Because so much junk has accumulated in areas which have old coins, that Imaging feature saves me so much time leaving a lot of junk in the ground. That loud oversize audio growl that the GTI's make helps a lot too. I really miss that imaging when I water hunt.

Another great day John!!:thumbup::clapping:
