Real trashy experiment

shooter

Member
Had a couple of hours to so I went to this park I hunt every once and a but its super trashy, tons of tabs, so I figured I'd just fool with the settings and get some time in see how the others work, well again I got tired of the TABS so I set it up this way DISC Mode, 1 tone,BP,SEN 85 and DISC"65 MAX", wanted to see how good it was at that high DISC, well I got my answer not bad at all, also never picked up a penny that is just what I dug. Plus acouple of junk items big peanut can lid ,2 Alum.cans naturally no gold but wasn't looking for it. Try it sometime you'll be amazed.

Thats nice! I wonder if something similar will work on my F5, congrats on the finds shooter

WTG Shooter, how deep were you getting these coins hh......

between 5-7"'s

Nice finds Shooter!! I have tried settings close to what you stated, and personally I got a little audio fatigue whith all the falseing going on,and also filltering that much out I felt I lost depth and sensitivity JMHO. Looks like it works well for you!!! rick in mi.........

Yep, with the 5 inch coil and those setting alot can be picked through.......gotta try that soon I did some at disc=50 andfound a 5 in. merc in my own yard, afew months back after reading someone else was using high disc.......the thing about that is I have hit that area previously with a couple other detectors
and in about 5-10 min. I found it....at disc=50.....lots of trash out there

Like I said it was just an experiment, I don't use it as a normal practice. Cause no gold at that high of an ADJ. Think I'll try it again this time notch in nickels if I get nickels then gold will come in.

Hey shooter, no need to post this in the other thread, I found it! :) I will certainly give that a try, sounds pretty good when you are in an area of trash and don't want to dig zinc. Like you, however, I think I will try notching in nickels on the remote chance that I will stumble on some gold!!

over the 30 years of detecting mostly all my gold was found in DISC mode "5" setting and thats allowing nickels.

Is that a typo on the "5", shooter? A Disc setting of "5" would certainly allow nickels!

Not on not on the F75, I mean on my other detectors 1270, 1265x, 555-D, silver sabre, LF- 990, 5- was the setting in DISC to keep nickels in. Sorry about that.
