Really liking the single and double digit number system

Much easier than the ferrous and conductive system on etrac and SE pro... Very accurate too. Like the detectors I have always used in other brands.

I see no need for ferrous numbers on American coins... When it hits the right target the right number comes up almost always. Unlike the jumpy 12 system on the e-trac and the fluctuating system on the SE pro..

I am really impressed with the lower number accuracy as I stated before. 9 foil is almost always just that foil.. Sure I may miss a small ring once in awhile. But I also miss digging a hundred pull tabs and other junk..

That is a big plus for me... Oh, and the stability of operation, and no EMI, is awesome.. Turn on, noise cancel and hunt.. No major adjusting required..

Elton -- I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the Safari and am looking forward to seeing your finds.

I started with an ETrac but traded it for a Safari + $$ because I love the simple menu system.

I have a question for those of you that use or have used both the Safari and the E Trac. How do they compare with target recovery time? I really like my Safari except when I get in trashy areas the recovery time seems so slow, even in high trash mode. I've never used an E Trac so I was just wondering how they compare

E-trac recovery is faster..... Etrac numbers are not as stable on objects as the Safari from what I can tell ... Once Safari locks on it stays on.The 12 number system varies a lot depending on the swing over targets.

I have noticed too The Safari does not hit as much small iron, or steel targets as the ETrac did.. I do notice the Safari hits more screw caps than the E-trac for sure.. as good targets numbers too.

Not that a big an issue really ....if you want Indians you better dig some screw caps... The simplicity of the Safari is really amazing considering it is FBS...

I feel the depth is about the same on the two machines.......... from what I can tell so far...

Elton nailed it. I was an avid hardcore safari hunter and this machine is awesome. For its simplicity and raw power out of the box I truly feel it is un matched. I did not dig as much junk as I am with the etrac and depth is the same. Safari is very stable. Now with that being said I am at fifty one silvers with the trac and probably 25% of them have come from spots I did with the safari. Im not talking back corner of yard I might have missed either im talkin front yard next to side walk. In these instances silver was mixed with trash or had trash close. I feel the processor helped in this case but the ability for me to use the quick mask and two tone on fly is why I located these coins with the trac. In short no machine can get it all it could be the angle of approach. The other day buddy of mine did yard I have done three times with the minelabs and found two Indians so you just never know. One thing I do know is minelab = silver...
