Really short hunt today--first V nickel in a long time

I wasn't planning on hunting today as i set it aside for a nice family day, but when my wife suggested we spend some time at the park since it was so nice and 62 degrees outside, who am I to say no

Well, I did happen to have the detector in the car so while she and the daughters played soccer, I got to swing a little. Did not find a lot but I did get a nice large musket ball and a 1908 V nickel.

What really excites me is finding nickels again. My nickle finds dropped down to almost zero while using my Explorers so it has probably been almost 10 years since my last V nickel. But, since I got the E-trac, I started finding them again and have dug at least 1 nickle in almost every outing, this being my first oldie though.

She isn't much to look at, but it made my short detecting day

I have found nickels with my GTI 2500, but the E-Trac seems to love them. A 12-12 will certainly be a nickel.

Nice V. that is in very good shape compared to some of the ones I have seen around here. Our soil seems to eat them up.
