Recent Finds....

I haven't been out much lately, but I hit the road in Western Illinois the weekend before last with the Guvner to see if any of my old sites had anything left in them. Hunting was tough and signals few and far between. I got lucky with some good targets though, as shown in the pic below. A nice 1903 Barber Quarter, 1865 2 Cent Piece, 1600's Chinese Cash Coin, some other silver coins, a few Indians ranging from 1865 to 1908, and some other goodies:

I also included a pic of my first gold ring in 4 years... what a drought that was! A nice old 18 KT band, and a neat gold filled cuff link the same day. These came out of an old beat to death park in the city:

Nice finds - especially that 2 cent piece, Barber quarter and of course that nice gold ring. Looks like you were digging all the non-iron signals. Way to go and HH.

Seems a lot of people are using the Explorer. It was pretty tough to find much that hadn't been pounded. I did get to try the SEC 15" coil on one particularly barren place that used to put out and immediately started to find a few wheaties on edge which is one thing the better big coils have always done for me.
