RECHARGABLE BATTERIES

so i just would like to know can i use rechargable batteries in the T2?
can i reach the same depth as with the alkaline?
 
what kind of rechargable battery do you use?
NiMh?
the thing is those nimh has only 1.2 v tension thats why i thought they are not as good as alkaline that has 1.5 v tension.
there is probly a voltage regulator that makes the voltage as high as needed.
