Rechargeables

Does the battery pack from minelab come with 1.5v rechargeables or 1.2v? I bought a set of 1.2v 2650 mha batteries. At full charge, they will only show 2 bars on the detector and I'm only getting about 1 hour run time.

All rechargables are 1.2v & Your detector will work fine with the rechargeables.1 hour runtime is too short, what kind of charger are You using? Sounds like a bad charger or a bad cell. Take a voltmeter & after charging, check the voltage of each cell.A great charger for charging batteries at home or in the field is the Energizer 15 minute charger. saw them today at walmart for $21.00 on sale for the 4 bank charger. Use only Nickel Metal hydride batteries in Your detector as You will get better performance.

The batteries are Duracell NiMH and the charger is a 4 bank ! hour charger made by digital. How much runtime should I be getting?

On My Quattro using 2500ma batteries I detect 4 hors & I still have juice left.I know someone at Minelab and was sent a free rechargeable pack & wall charger & I am getting very good runtimes also as the rechargeables in the Minelab pack are only 1600ma Again, after charging take a voltmeter & chech each cell voltage as You may have a bad cell.

I too just bought rechargables, of an off brand name from some battery house, they were 2600. I have run mine far longer than 4 or 5 hours and they still were at half full on the meter. Seems it goes to half very quickly and then stays there. I never had them run out as I usually only go out for a few hours and after several times out I just recharge them.

I have had it go out suddenly but I think that has something to do with the battery pack. I turned it back on and ran for several hours more so the batteries were not dead.

Seems like the first time I used the batteries they went to very low quickly but the last few charges I have not seen the same thing.

When I purchased my Quattro I also recieved a charger and 8 x 1600mAh Ni-MH rechargable batteries. If I go for a day I usually start detecting about 9am and finish about 4pm and haven't run out of power yet, the batteries are nearly twelve months old.......Ken.

I was told and then read that the Nimh batteries don't reach their fully charged potential until they have been in the charger 4 to 6 times. I too recently bought some recharge-ables, 20 2600mah and 10 bay charger for $60.00. I put the batteries in to charge and it too almost 16hrs before the green lights came on. I was concerned and contacted the company I bought them from. They told me they ship the cells devoid of charge and to be patient with the initial charge. Good advice!! I have used one set, on the initial charge, for about 10hrs before I had one bar left on the battery indicator on the Quattro. And thats assuming that the batteries have not reached fully charged status!! I think given time and few more charges your batteries will last much much longer. Hope this helps, Jay

Thanks for the help. The other day was the first time I had used them. They may need some breaking in. I checked them with a volt meter and they all checked good.
