Record Setting Day (unfortunately, for clad coins)

Ed (Upstate NY)

Active member
When plan 'A" to detect my friend's colonial era farm fields fizzled due to the wet grounds (2 pounds of wet clay stuck to your feet with each step),I switched to plan "B" which was to detect the adjacent town park. Several years ago a friend had found an 1806 Flowing Hair quarter there so I though maybe a second one could be hiding out in the baseball fields. No such luck but in 4 hours of detecting I did dig 127 quarters, 23 dimes and 3 memorial cents. My previous best day ever for digging clad quarters was somewhere around 50. Man did I blow that record away. Total for the day was $34.05 which is easily double the most I"ve ever found in a single day. Well, thats $34.05 more towards that gold coin I'll be purchasing next month after I cash in this year's clad. It was fun but I'd still rather be digging the old stuff. Today's haul is tumbling clean as I type this !!!

Nice haul Ed. Well I made it to 99 scoring a 1914 barber dime at WP this afternoon. I'll post it later. Looking for #100 tomorrow. Hey guess what my x-1 probe for the Quattro came in this afternoon. Can't wait for tomorrow.
