Recovered this unique cross and chain about 18" deep in the low tide mud this past summer.

[attachment 80775 Picture3390.jpg]I got a nice , loud, solid low tone..thought it was some old piece of metal; I just kept digging it because the solid sound intrigued me

After 5 large, deep scoops and still not hitting the object, I finally said "OK, this is the last scoopful"... and so I gave it one last try...and there it was in the hole...looked like an anchor to me..it was so big and heavy.

I love this cross...don't know the metallic content, but both the cross and chain are much heavier than ones that I have found in the past.
