Red Racer & pin pointing

Found 40 clad coins in 2 hrs this morning with my newly purchased Red Racer. I am really liking this machine. Fast, accurate ID, easy to swing, and pretty.
However.
I am having initial problems pinpointing. No fault with the Racer, just me. This is not a problem, of course, woth the 5" coil.

I am used to concentric coils, and PP is spot on.
The stock DD 7x11" is a different story. Give me some advice here guys.

What's the best method for pinpointing with this coil?

I have never used the 7x11 on mine, it's still wrapped up. I have used the 5.5x10 and the NEL Sharp. I have better luck with the 5.5x11 with I find the target is about half way between the toe of the coil and the center,. The NEL coil it's directly in the Center.....

Just pinpoint to the tip of the coil. Common practice with DAD coils. Pinpoint left to right to find center then back it up toward your until the signal fades.
Practice in a clean spot with targets on the surface.
Works pretty well.

Thanks for the info, guys. After a couple of more hunts, I'm having success at the tip of the pp. Getting the hang of centering it too.

Really looking forward to getting one of the new 7" round concentric coils.
