An old detectorist and treasure hunter friend of mine, who has been dead several years, had a good library and was a very knowledgeable guy........ He told me once that the best resource material he had found for helping identify peices and parts of old finds and relics was the reprint of the old Sears and Roebuck Catalogue ( 1897
I believe ) ....... He was very right ........ They are anywhere from $7 - $10 used on Amazon.

I have the fall 1900 issue. some of that stuff is pretty crazy , like the "Heidelberg alternating current electric belt" and some of the cure all's ,no FDA back then.
But I agree good books for id info a wide variety of objects no mater witch year.
mine was copyright of 1970 and priced at 3.95$
They even have some company and catalog history in the front ,The first catalog was AC roebuck and was in 1891. the first sears ,roebuck catalog was in 1893.
