relic hunting with a Vaquero

Looking for a light weight relic machine and was wondering how the Vaquero works near power lines.
I hunt on a historic Indian campsite that is located under some power lines. I currently use a Garrett GTI 1500 that works great under the lines. A great machine but get tired of swinging it after about 3 hrs. Also, with a stock coil, what kind of depth can I expect with a Vaquero? Will it hit on an Eagle button at 8 to 10 inches? Thanks.
Clint

from everything I've read, it should handle the power lines with no problems. As for the depth, it's one of the deepest detectors I've ever used. Button should be no problem at those depths...For myself, being older now and my back isn't what it used to be, I just love the light weight, it's only 2.2 pounds, even I can swing that for a long period of time..

You will be very Surprised at the Depth on it I dug a womans Bobby Pin at 8 inches with it yesterday as well as a 1942 Transit token at about 7 inches which is smaller than a dime ! Made of Brass if the Tejon has similar depth with the dual Disc I will have two killer machines

The vaquero is a awesome relic detector. The coil selection is big.I am going to get one myself.I have dug some deep colonial period relics with a vaquero.Kansa,i kid you not, this is the detector you need
I have hunted the vaq right under the high voltage lines,i am talking main power lines, not residential but main transmission power lines!.If you do not get a vaq you will be sorry. :-C

I just got my vaquero ,still on the first battery, and am loving it more each time I use it. Found a copper penny at around 8 inches and a gillette shaving razor (circa 1960) in my yard at 7, iron targets even deeper. Once you get the ground balancing and supertuning down pat you won't believe it. Haven't been under any overhead wires yet but I have detected next to a transformer in a park and didn't notice anything peculiar happen to my vaquero sure others on this forum who have been under overhead wires will share their experiences with you...$happy digging$

Hey Topo, I hunt in all-metal mode when relic hunting. You think power lines will affect its performance?

Hi, My experience is that when hunting around power lines, specially bellow them, threshold fluctuations may be noticed while using all-metal. The way I overcome this issue is by running my GB more positive, allowing me to use it more stable. I would say it's not impossible, in fact, the vaquero runs quieter than another machine I used on the same situation
