Relic Hunting with the CZ-70 Pro

Hi all,
I plan to do some heavy Relic hunting in some Rev and Civil War sites as soon as the snakes are back in thier holes. I have a CZ-70 and I have the normal 8 inch coil and I also have the 10.5 inch coil. My question is which coil should I use for relic hunting or do I need a 5 incher too? Is the CZ-70 a good machine for relic hunting?

Thanks,
Curt

Because the 10.5" coil somewhat mimics a DD with it's RX elliptical concentric football center, it may do well. I guess it really depends on the soil and how much iron you have to deal with.

You could always add the CZ iron disc mod, very simple to do.

Brian

The Cz70 for me was not a good detector for Gold Country relic hunting it hit on a lot of targets as iron where the F75 hit them and VDI them as a diggalble target.

I believe the CZ units excell for coins but one might do better with a metered unit with numbers to coincide to what you are looking for lest you do a lot of digging but certainly could be used for relic hunting. As far as coils all depends on the area you are hunting and many CZ users have all 3 to satisfy their hunting needs..Basically a coin hunter myself but have found buckles, buttons and bullets so perhaps an experienced relic hunter could offer his expertise as many of the items you are looking for have a partial ferrous content and CZ's love iron..I believe if you search the web you could find relic hunting forums which would certainly help...
