Hello Fellow MDers
Just wanted to know if anyone used the Bounty Hunter Big Bud Pro with Nickel Protect ? I had one when they first came out and this detector found me some coins etc. that my main detector Fisher 1265x overlooked. One time I was hunting a Old fair ground and came across this large signal with my Fisher 1265x. Upon digging it up it was a folded pop can, I came across this a few times that on these loud signals over every time it came out to be folded pop cans. I came across this often that I started to ignore them with the Fisher. One day I came back this time with my BH Big Bud Pro with nickel protect. This detector locked on to one of these targets I had ignored and showed something less than a POP can on the meter. It showed something in the high coin range, this time I decided to dig it and upon my surprised I unearth a Canadian 1940`s Silver 50 cent piece. I live in Canada so this is a rare find as not many were lost over the years Canadians were coin pincher's and held on to coins of this value are rarely lost. This was back years ago also this Big Bud also locked on to a silver ring in the nickle protect range also it never lost any nickles when I had this switched on. I liked this detector all except the search coil was faulty after awhile and it use to false often so i got rid of it. I really liked the meter and nickle protect circuit Bounty Hunter used on this detector it netted me some coins and items that I would have never got using my trustworthy 1265X Fisher killer machine.
Anyone else like their BH Big Bud Pro with Nickle protect ?

what is the switch to right underneath?, On the Big Bud pro I had with nickle protect the switch on right I believe was the nickle protect switch also it had notch feature if my memory serves me correct depending on where the switch was set. The one I had was Black in color never seen the red ones before. Is your search coil grey in color ? Thanks and hope you can lock on to some fine coins with it.
I wish the snow would stay away, snowing again today, wont get out before Easter if it don;t stop, had 3 days and melted all the snow so we went Prospecting instead for the afternoon, was hoping to get out one day and try out the Tesoro Compadre in a spot that produces some old military buttons in the past. But will have to wait now until snows gone for good and before the black flies come out. Oh my what a life I can;t take it anymore..... gee between panning for Gold and metal detecting and fishing for some nice speckled trout ... a fellow can get plum tuckered out...
