Remote and Puck Question

I just purchased a Deus and am waiting for the snow to clear so I can get out and try her out. My question is this... If I'm using the remote on the shaft with the Vance headphones do I also need to hook up the puck to the headphones or does it pick up the signal from the remote?
 
Yes Puck moves over to the headphones. You can run without the remote but if you want to hear anything from the headphones you need the puck attached.
