Requesting assistance with logo on ring that I found this morning

Found this 14 K Emerald/ Diamonds ( jeweler tested) ring this morning among the rocks at low tide (love to hunt in rocky areas)

The insignia NSS or SSN might be a Navy insignia ( Navy ship submersible) (ship submersible Navy)...this I got from researching on the web, but not sure if this is correct..there are many submitted interpretations of these letters.

I'm hoping that someone on this forum will know some info about this ...particularly if it is Navy.
