Rescued an IDX from the closet.

A lady I work for and I did some trading and I ended up with a mint condition IDX that used to belong to her dad. He used it a couple of times and stuck it in the closet. Luckily he took the batteries out first! There it sat since the mid nineties. When it arrived the box was a little worse for wear and the pinpoint switch was snapped off clean. I put on a replacement from RS and took it out for the first time today. I had not touched a detector in almost 6 years so I was eager to try it out! In the backyard of the house next door my second signal produced a 1964 Washington silver quarter at about 6". Nothing else of interest turned up today but that silver sure was a welcome sight!

Nothing but good all the way around it seems to me. Congratz!

Good first impression on that silver. Congrats.

Sounds great. Welcome back to the hobby.
