Restored AT Pro finds large silver -- :garrett:

I sent my At Pro back to Garrett to get it adjusted for the falsing I was experiencing and it returned earlier this week. The turn around was a week and a half, excellent service by Garrett. I had permission to hunt a private field this weekend and was out from about 7AM to 3PM today. The finds were not many, a few fired Civil War bullets and a well worn copper penny from either King Charles II or Charles III, there is enough detail to make out it is a Charles coin, but the date is not clear enough to make out. But the big find, in the last hour of the day for me, is a beautiful King Carlos IV silver Reale minted in Mexico City in 1790. The coin was about six inches deep and gave a clean signal with a visual number of 71. I was running the AT Pro on Pro Zero mode, full sensitivity and the iron canceled out to level 30. The coin is as large and heavy as a US silver dollar and after I cleaned it it looks to be in very fine condition.

A wonderful day detecting and I am very, very happy with my AT Pro. This was the first really full day using the detector even though I got in in early December. Enjoy the pictures.

You sure found a gooder, no doubt about that. A suggestion.....send in some nice high resolution photos to Garrett with a story AND enter it in the win a PRO Pointer contest.

One great find:thumbup:

Large Silver? Looks like a man hole cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great find! I would have figured that thing to hit in the #90+ range? I'll bet you go back to that place... :clapping:

Good suggestions John-Edmonton, I will do as you suggest.

To everyone who viewed my note, thank you for the kind words. This is a super Forum and one reason is the great people who one finds here. Thank you!

John, you suggested I enter this coin in one of the contests. I read where the contest closed end of February, have they been extended? If so I will enter today, if not I will wait for the next one to get set up. And I am taking your suggestion to submit a story and pictures to Garrett, doing it today.
