I went out detecting Thurs night and found this Air Force Ring. It was only about an inch down and looked like it lost a fight with a lawnmower! There was a name on it and I wondered if the person who lost it was still stationed in Japan. When I got to work Fri morning I check the AF locator and guess what? She was still stationed here. Unfortunately she wasn't in so I shot her an email and her supervisor came and picked it up. The owner has only been in the AF a few years, so she must have gotten the ring at basic training or soon after. I was going to try to round it out again with my mandrel but was afraid I'd break it. I'm sure a jewelry repair shop would have no problem cleaning it back up again.
