hi fellas. sold my explorer 2 sometime last october when i bought a few other detectors. and ever since i wish i had it back as it was a silver finding machine for sure. of the other detectors i have had that i have found a lot of silver with is my teknetics mark 1. i know the mark 1 doesnt get the depth that the explorer 2 does but the mark 1 has the best tone id. for the last 2 weeks i have watched my brother in law pull some very deep silver with his se and the 6x8 sef coil. he found a 1942 merc about 8 inches down and around the side of the hole was some iron but the minelab had some high tones and they led to silver. but the mark 1 isnt a slouch as i dug a 1941 merc about 6.5 inches deep wednesday afternoon. i think between my mark 1 and the explorer 2 i should be set to find some sweet silver. with the mark 1 being at 6.59khz the low frequency does great for silver. but what i really missed was the display on the minelab. i always did like the ferrous and conductive scale and silver always put the crosshairs at the top right hand corner with only 2 squares showing. anyway when it gets here next week and i find some silver i will post a few pics. hope you all have a good one and happy hunting...
