Went to the lot close to home. Thought I pretty much cleared it out, guess not!
I just got out of the truck, put my ear buds in and turned on the 705. I hadn't even had time to make any adjustments and the signal I got was so nice. Using the Digger, the ID was a solid 44, down 5 inches I see silver. "Come here old friend, been a long time!"
Right next to it was a silver war nickel. I hunted for an hour and got 2 more nickels
A wheat and 3 modern pennies.
Its been close to 20 years since I last got a silver quarter. Hope it doesn't take another 20 for the next.
BTW, I was using tracking GB with an offset of +5.

Bill, I guess I need to take a trip up north so you can show me where all the silver is! I got fooled yesterday by a Canadian nickel dime! Saw that white metal in the hole & could've sworn it was silver. Maybe next time.
 
One of the reasons you don't find a lot of silver is a QUARTER WOULD BY A GALLON OF GAS IN THE 50s 60s. You lost it you went back to find it. Lunch at my school was only .25 cents. Most people were careful with pocket change.

Not to argue, but I disagree. In the early 70s I found hundreds of silver quarters, at least in the grade schools and local parks.
Never spent much time in private yards.
The problem these days is that even the cheapest detector will pick up the quarters at a decent depth. So anybody that has gotten one for Christmas or a birthday has been out.
Your theory may be why I don't find many in the old yards I hunt.
