Reverse mounting the 10.5 DD

Hi All,
My 10.5. DD 7.5 KHZ should be here by Friday. I have seen some pictures of it reverse mounted. I assume this is for better balance? Is it more ergonomic and does it effect the operation at all?
 
It does not affect operation. But does help balance.
 
A good straight rod setup is really the way to go for the 10.5....I use either a Whites P/N 500-0288-1 or a Tesoro middle straight rod that is used for all the Tejon, Cbola etc Work great and the balance issue if really improved
