Well,it's been a long time since I posted a picture of my finds but it seems we had a wild weekend here in NJ! I got out for a few hours on Saturday and my normal spots produced a few pieces of gold and silver. I figured I would head back on Sunday to maybe get another piece of gold if conditions would hold. For the first 3 hours of the hunt I did pull a small 14k cross and 3 pieces of silver(the heart bracelet,a toe ring, and a small silver earring). Not a bad hunt, but by no means a rare one. To find these pieces I had to walk I would say 8 blocks and was into a new area that I never hunted before. I think I found about 3 coins over the previous 2 blocks when I saw what was a large hole on the beach(about 20' round). What it looked like was somebody blew a hole in the beach with a mailbox! For the next hour I dug over 250 targets in that small area with a lot being jewelry(good and bad). I must have looked up dozens of times thinking another hunter was going to walk up on me,but it never happened!!!! I can say that nothing killer came out but I never found that many pieces of jewelry on a saltwater beach!!!!! The take for the hunts:65 pieces of jewelry!!!!!(10 gold,25 silver, and 30 junk). Sunday was the best day producing 42 of them. In the picture the gold and silver are above the big junk chain and everything below it is the junk. Oh,5 of those pieces came from there last night. I just had to check it one last time and the beach had filled in the hole. I hope the picture works and I hope you all enjoy it. HH,Harry(NJ)

hey harry,
What a spot in N.J. That WILD weekend sure produces some FANTASTIC FINDS!! it was definate a trip to the chineese Buffet that day !!!

WOW !!! HARRY
WHAT A WILD FIND !!! ITS great that there are still great finds at the jersey shore in the winter.

and that Explorer are doing well together - most of those finds (especially the chains) would have been tough salt water beach finds for most detectors / detectorists!
Congrats.

Between you and Bernie, I might have to get the bug to go beach hunting again. Between the two of you that is more jewelry than I have gotten in 20 years!!

I was in that general vicinity last week and found a couple of pieces of jewelry too (gold and silver). Unfortunately all light stuff too....but I'll take it. Seems that it was a bit of a walk between targets and when I would hit one coin I was usually in for digging 8-15 more in the same spot until it would peter out....oh well.....maybe things will change a bit later in the week and those storm winds will move a little sand around.....Maybe see ya down there Dude.....Brian

I'll just take his! I can't imagine not hunting the beach, but with those great old coins you find I see why you hunt those inland spots!HH,Harry
