Finished up what little was left. Lots of trash dug, many screw caps at 63 + readings. Might be a good numbers to avoid?
Not much but did get ring #20. 10K- stainless steal with little diamond. Thanks for looking and Happy Trails....Z

Zeek, thats alright! I went and did some ground today too, fooled around with some settings, jacked up the sens to 85, disc 15, -3 thresh, dE mode, even ground balanced, and swung slower than normal! It seems to help, HaHa! especially on some deeper ones..I actually had to dig three plugs! most notable were a 44 and a 55 wheatie, stacked together with a 69 memorial 6" deep. (gotta get a 9" screwdriver, and some forceps) and a 5 quarter stack, right up tight to the chain link fence, but still, it sure is fun just stabbin shallow, and swinging fast and wide, but to tell you the truth, this summer beach sweeping has me looking forward to slowing down some..you have a very successful tomorrow, either way, this is a nice type of hunting, and its getting cooler tonight, so thats good.
Mud.

Mud I am thinking about getting a 12" screwdriver. I use the screwdriver to help me get up and down. In my world the ground is a dog gone long ways down.
I have done so much detecting this summer I can see my feet for the first time in years in a standing position.
Mud as you know Sens@60 will get you down 4" - 5". I think with Sens@85 you should be looking at consistent 7" or more? Let me know? I am and my body is very pleased with 3" depth finds. The less time down the more digs I can pull out of the ground before it is time for me to go home.
Cbailey it sure does look like a very expensive ring. I looked it up and found out that they are not so expensive. But that is ok with me it sure is a nice find in my book also. I would like to find the owner and give it back. Not much good to me.
Thanks guys and HH. Happy Trails....Z

Kept calling business near where I found the ring. Finally the man who lost his ring contacted the business just hoping someone would contact them. He is a nice young man. His wife just passed away and he is now battling cancer. The ring means a lot to him and he has been sick since loosing it. He has a 10 year old daughter. So if you think you have problems just look around it is easy to find someone with much bigger hills to climb.
Isn't it strange that a goofy old guy doing what he loves and finds something so important to someone else? We really never know do we????
I said no I don't want anything. He said buy your wife something and make sure you tell her you love her. And he put the money in my shirt pocket and left.
Metal detecting is like life, an adventure in playfulness with pleasant surprises...... Happy Trails......Z

WTG. Z. :clapping: I am sure through all his struggles you made his day more than you know , to me returning a ring to a worried owner is the best reward of hunting just to see happy they are . HH great job Stryker

Thanks guys for kind words. I really never thought about anything but giving it to the owner.
Here is a guy that has 10 feet of camel dung dumped on him and he wants to give appreciation to me. When he saw the ring, it was an awkward moment. Relief and joy released instantly. It was kind of powerful. Hard to say anything. It was an experience that is short but is experienced almost for ever.
Thanks again. HH.. and Happy Trails.....Z
