So can anyone tell me the most likely sounds the 250 will make on gold wedding bands pretty solid gold rings, will it most likley be the bell tone or the nickel, pulltab sound?

Most likely it will hit on nickel. I have gotten some smaller ones on foil. More metal and more alloys it will hit higher.
 
Just dig al sounds. You'll find one sooner or later.
 
thick gold rings will hit any were between 5c to 1c but there are so many variables - the carat & alloy of the ring - the size of the ring - which way the ring is laying in the ground - the depth of the ring in the ground - the soil type. so it"s dig it all time when looking for gold the only signals i don't dig are iron. so get ready to dig some holes.
