Ripped off id......

Pete in MI

New member
I have found that on Yahoo! mail and Yahoo! Messenger and all the Yahoo! Groups I belonged to - and was even an owner of one of the groups (Michigan UpNorth) have been ripped off.

My id of Shield513 and my id of coinshooter have been hacked. My personal information changed. I cannot access the accounts. My date of birth has been changed, my secret question answer changed, my zip code changed. All emails to Yahoo! have met with no answers via email telling me that my alternate email address has been changed so the thief gets all the emails with the new passwords if any have been sent.

To have one ripped off is one thing, two being ripped off tells me someone may be working on yours to steal soon.
Be careful.

For now if anyone wants to email me my new id is: ripped_off_id@yahoo.com

Wonder how long this one will last. All my previous names of contacts on Yahoo! Messenger I cannot access and have forgotten the ids of many. Anyone being contacted by Shield513 or coinshooter on Messenger - do not reply to them...in fact delete Shield513 and coinshooter if I was in you list. I am guessing a lot of spam will soon be going out under my previous IDs. Don't accept email from shield513@yahoo.com or from coinshooter@yahoo.com...it could be virus or spam laden.

This makes me sick that I have to give up my id as a former Air Force cop (Shield513) and my metal detecting hobby id of coinshooter.

Dont know how computer saavy you are, but there is always the chance your info was hijacked from the inside. Check for spyware, virus and trojans. Unfortunately, If your system is infected, and the progs are good, They may be very difficult to detect. If you know all this already, disregard :).
