Hey Surfdigger,

Not to be nosy but are there any really populated areas you can dig? Such as near a pier or a populated swimmig area? I learned a good lesson from CJC regarding beach hunting reading one of his books..."It ain't there because it never got there." That is one hell of a tip that I keep in the back of my mind at all times.

Sorry Surfdigger,

That was a three beer post. Keyboards and beer are a bad mix for me. I guess what I'm saying is there doesn't appear to be any standout focal points on those beaches such as concession stands, piers, or even life guard towers where there might be an unusually high concentration of people. (During the summer of course)

I read a tip somewhere that sort of hits home with me which is "think small" when detecting. I think CJC would refer to that as "the box." I don't mean to sound like the detector guru 'cause I'm not. There are plenty of people out there that find way more than I do. But sharing thoughts, tips and ideas is always cool. I especially enjoy seeing pics of conditions other people around the country and world hunt in.

Anyway, I really enjoy your videos.

just a note went out today to local beach down here 75 degrees just great day, but ive not like useing am mode on my excal 2 cause ive always gotten junk,but today i tried it again at surf line, i hit a very faint sound in threshold tone but not sound in disc when i switched from pinpoint..so i dug deep and out poped a silver earring..cheap one but id not experienced this type or way of find before..tried what your videos are telling us..so for now i gotta try this again next time out this week, seems to be interesting,but i understand now really listening for those very faint changes...:detecting:ill keep you posted..
