hi all..just a quick question for owners of the rnb hp 2900 and 3100 lion batteries... ive got a hp 2900 on the way for my v, i know there is obviously a capacity difference between it and the newer 3100,what i,d like to know, how much operating time difference (on a v) would there be (just a ballpark figre) an hour? 2? so someone who has compared both would be great to hear from :)..reason i ask,is i can get a decent deal on a 3100,but if i aint gonna gain a heck of a lot, it may not be worth it for me..cheers :)

Anton

Since either will last ALL day there is no difference in use.

seriously,if i aint gonna get much more out of the 3100 over the 2900, might as well buy another coil instead :detecting:

That's a .2 amphour difference. If the V draws .2 amps, you would get an hour more of use. If the V draws .1 amps, you would get 2 hours more. I have no idea how manyamps the V draws. That data may be on the label?

It's not on a label.

There are only so many hours in a day. I've never been able to detect long enough in a day to run the 2900 down. Most people don't have the energy to run down the 2100's. I see no need for a multi day battery. I charge them after a hunt and am ready for another full day.

I have the 3100. I had the 2900. A friend wanted it so I sold it to him and got the 3100. The 2900 will do you just fine. The 3100 has a little bit more capacity but you will never ever run the 2900 down even if you run it 12 hours a day.....which most people cannot do.

The 2900 will do you just fine. Don't worry. Go and find some gold and silver.
