We lit out at dawn last Sat and went to an old copper mining area about 2 1/2 hours away. Here's the huge open pit mine at Morenci, Az.

The towns are pretty much in narropw canyons - clifts nearby so it's hard to find any places to detect that are not concrete. I had researched the area a lot ands it just didn't pan out for railroad items & old coins. Part of the reason was the frequent rains like this one.

In twpo dasys wI detected a bunch of parks & a few schools and dug 197 coins & a lot of junk jewelry.

My one neat piece I got is this heart pendant. The stones are cZ - as is stamped onm the back - the base meqatal is stamped 925 and it's plated with gold. The jeweler said the dark stones looked like sapphires. Not a reral expendsive find but surely a beautiful designed one. We had a fun time even tho we didnt get the RR stuff. Next trip !! Steve in so az

Now you can just add one of your spare chains that you've dug and have a nice necklace!
