Rolled up my clad and modern copper today

Mason Jarr

New member
And I had $361........so I went to the junk store and bought these. I had $9 left over, so I bought myself a nice oriental chicken salad at Applebee's (had to throw in a few bucks from my pocket). The two Morgans are both 1921s, but man they are in great shape. I hope I'll get enough clad next year to do about the same. More would be even better. It's definitely nice to DIG silver, but modern coins can be put to good use, also. And there's a lot more of them than the old stuff.

I used a CTX3030 for all but 2 months of the season which started in March.

I used to buy them silver rounds with mine. I wonder which would be the best investement. Gold or silver. Any ideas.... KEN

The price of silver keeps going up.

that is a nice little mountain of silver you got there...in all my years ive only ever dug 2 silver half dollars.. both were walkers and one of them I promptly lost a few days later...nice haul...

It boils down to what you like Ken, the precious metals market seem to move together. Silver is more volatile if you like to buy and sell on speculation but most of the world is on the gold standard, long term, I don't think you can go wrong on gold.

Mason Jarr has a nice assortment of silver to look at, hold and admire or he could have bought one $5 gold piece. One year I bought a 1909-S VDB cent to plug an empty hole in my childhood penny collection with the clad. I know some guys just spend their clad as it comes but I like to have something to show for all my digging in the dirt that year.

I myself prefer Silver for the following reasons: Most Silver mined is a by product of mining for Gold, etc. Number of things that require Silver to work and make the Silver unrecoverable Water purification, modern solar panels, digital photography(i'm told anyway) Plus now being used in the medical field for surgeries, jewelry yada, yada, etc Silver is also the only metal which has anti Bacterial properties to it,which is totaly weird when you think of the werewolve legends and wonder.Plus you get alot more of it for the $$.If you ever need a few Bucks you can sell some. With Gold especially in coin form its usually all or nothing.Personally I keep all the Gold,Silver,Brass,Copper,I can find, and buy Ammo,Can goods, and Silver coins & Rounds with the rest. Also you can save Aluminum cans you find and cash them in,its free money & they're everywhere! HH all!:detecting:

about Silver, Gold, and more. I'm thinking of buying and storing silver and maybe gold too in a safe deposit box. The banking system in the world doesn't look stable. If it collapses overnight we probably lose every penny we have in the bank. Thanks for the reply. Jabbo

Nice work Mason Jarr! Thats a great way to take the clad and turn it into something!:clapping:
