Rough, emotional day

Sandtick

Active member
Spent the morning detecting a sand bar with my son. We were having a real nice time until my wife called.
Our 6 year old rag doll cat (Samson) needed to be put down. I'm not a big cat person but this one was different. He was more like a dog and just a great pet. He has been suffering the last couple of months with what we thought was an urinary infection. Turns out he was impacted with kidney stones. They were so bad the vet didn't think he would make it through the weekend unless they operated on him. The surgery would not fix the problem.
We Pray that we made the right decission for our little guy... At least he is no longer suffering.

Prayers for comfort for the family.

Pete, have you even heard of RAINBOWS BRIDGE.COM???......It is a comforting website, folks can go to and read the story of the Rainbows Bridge, and put their animal loved ones that have passed on,as a memorial.....ONE word of warning:The story of the rainbows bridge is VERY emotional, and at the same time, very comforting, for us that have lost pets.....Warthog Steve.

Thanks Ma. It sounds as if you had a great bond with your cat also. My youngest son is taking it the hardest. Our other cat has been confused all day looking for his friend.

So sorry to hear this. I am a huge animal person and know how much we love our pets. I will say a prayer for you and your family.

Lisa

Very sorry to hear that, he was a beautiful cat, I love all my pets dearly so I understand, hank

Sorry to read this Sandtick! Samson was a beautiful cat. We lost our momma cat, Skinny this week. She left behind a 3 week kitten that we are now bottle feeding. They sure do attach themselves to our hearts, don't they?

Yes Liz they do. Even though this guy had a rough go at it and he cost us some serious money I still would do it over again.
I'm also sorry about your cat Skinny. Hopefully you guys can fill the void for her little kitten.

Thanks everyone for all the replies.
My wife is already on the hunt for a new cat to keep our other one in line.

I'll post a photo when we find the right one.

Well, we adopted this little guy (Truman) today from the rescue service. Now all we have to do is introduce him to his new brother. Praying that the two will hit it off good.
