But the wiring thing on the B's didn't work out, dunno how something that simple can be so puzzling, the black wire is the one to the long sleeve, guess i just got a weirdo :surrender::detecting::usaflag::usmc:
 
Well then you either have a shorted volume control potentiometer (actually it is being used as a rehostat),

or the tech replaced it with one that has the wrong velue (too low a resistance).

As I mentioned in my post, it could be one of three things. Above are the other two remaining possibilities.

Since you said a technician replaced it, I would highly suspect that he used a wrong valued one.
