Rumblings about an underwater ACE, european ACE, and a new european mid-range unit...

News to me but I been hearing about an exotic new Minelab that may be rumor or not. What's the skinny on this new Ace. Would be a lick if it was true.

Bill

That's the first that I've heard about that rumour Bill. I expect that Minelab will bring out something that'll match it with the Whites. Especially given their response when the V3 came out. It really rattled them. I would be surprised if it came out sooner than 12 months from hear, given the length of time it takes to develop a detector.
Given the Age of the Scorpion, my money is on that being the next detector to be upgraded/replaced in the Garrett range. Who knows, Garrett could come right out of left field and come up with something we've never seen before.
Mick Evans.

That's what I need next, a water machine. An under water ACE 250 would meet all my needs. Ten feet deep in fresh water lakes isn't exactly deep water diving in the North Atlantic.

I ain't heard nuttin';)BUT, it would be kewl if :garrett: came out with a new VLF H2O:detecting: Keep your fingers crossed 'til springtime!:thumbup:Happy Hunting!:)
SSSSSHHHHH! Remember, I ain't heard nuttin';)

I'm still waiting for them to get off their backsides and
put out some concentric coils for the Ace. Guess they
hear only what they want to hear.

Hey Katz, I've used my old 8.5" Crossfire2 search coil on the Ace 250 and it works like a charm. It's made for 7.2kHz machines, but worked fine on Ace 6.5kHz, same plug:shrug: Pinpoints alot better than that stock 6.5"x9" elliptical. I know you mean "round" which that 8.5" Crossfire2 is. Has a nice litlle "x" right in the center and pinpoints on a dime. I think Garrett still sells 'em. I know KellyCo does. I use that 10"x14" double "D" Excellerator coil that's made for the Ace on my old GTAx1250, which is 7.2kHz. Never had any problems. Works great. That big 12.5" Crossfire2 works on the Ace also, but makes it real front heavy. Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
