Rumor of a new T2 on its way!

Bill M

New member
I heard yesterday from a faithful T2 user that Fisher/Teknetics is about to release a couple of new models (T2 & F75). Anyone else have any info?

This type of story has been kicking around for a few years,it will get a few folks excited but untill its official from the company i would not hold my breath about it.

F75 has been being refined, and tested around the world for over a year. They have added some iron volume control along with a new faster process and DST= digital shielding technology written into the software to help fight EMI enabling it to be run hotter and quieter.

Will also allow the tone pitch to be carried over from the am mode. I hope ms will remain the same and this will be a rolling change.

They will offer upgrades to existing units ( Some for sure) but do not have all the details ironed out yet on this program and how it will work with warranteed and non warranteed units. They may only offer upgrade on units still under warranty..... Either way will be attractive to current F75 owners if under warranty in my opinion. :bouncy: I am looking forward to the new release ..Thought I would share what I have learned.

As far as I know a price has not been set for the up grade on current F-75's... If I know Fisher it will be affordable...

I feel it is top notch info .or I would not have posted it...

I have no idea about the F75 range of detector or any updates that are coming out related to that model,as it is in the Teknetics thread and the T2 was the specific machine mentioned,my reply was related to the T2 detector.I will agree they appear to be similar machine so its possible that a T2 replacement or upgrade could have similar features to the new F75.

So basically my reply has no connection with your F75 reply

Got it mega..thanks I did respond because he did mention T2 and F-75 in original post.. Wish I knew about a T2 but I don't..

Elton I don't recall FTP ever offering upgrades of older models when a new one came out. They didn't do that when the T2 and F75 SE's came out and that was a smaller change than the rumored changes although it would be a pleasant surprise if they changed course and did offer an upgrade service but I think it would be surprising if they did.

I only passed on what a very reliable source indicated was going to happen... If it turns out to be wrong info. I truly am sorry for that.I did not just make this post up...or post a wishful thinking post..

I heard about this change from a pretty good source also, one thing that was not real clear was if they would offer to upgrade older machines. The changes and upgrades that Elton mentioned are dead nuts on. I heard it would be announced in October, November at the latest.

Like you said Sir..It's up in the air or at least not completely decided just yet.... as far as I have heard.

Thanks for your follow up on this topic. It's good to know that we can ask about specific issues on this forum and there is always someone that can help out. With all the details you have to offer, its obvious you have a reliable source. Thanks again Elton.

didn't they recently release the f-19

Some things you should know:

F19 is basically a GB/G2 with extra features. The enhanced v break along with iron volume control help make it an excellent relic hunter.

A back up for my other t2. When I go on long detecting trips I like to have a back up.

I just received a Teknetics Mark1 ltd (red box)from a friend whose father passed and left this metal detector. For 1 i would really like to be able to use this machine but there is no manual. 2nd i would really like t o be able to attach the box to the post!! There is only straps.I saw some more rounded posts with handles on here but would have no idea where to get one!! Please Help!!!

Just got word that upgrades will be offered on the F75SE and T2SE.....
