Rusted bottle caps?

Fire Fighter 43

Active member
How do all of you deal with rusted bottle caps and the Deus. I recently detected a spot that was loaded with them. They come in anywhere from 60's to 90's and sound solid like a coin on the Deus.

4kHz will help with these - set up an adjacent program to your regular one and then toggle between programs when you get a suspect bottlecap. The VDI will increase when switching to 4kHz from any other program (that isn't 4kHz) if it's a bottlecap, but will DECREASE if it's a non-ferrous target

Thanks for the replies. I've been using the 4khz method and that does work great. The only propblem is when there are hundreds of caps it gets to be a little overwhelming checking every single high tone.

In those really dense areas just run in 4khz and turn the sens down or the silencer up and don't dig any signals above 87 or so.
The wiggle method may or may not work very well as it depends a great deal on the frequency you are running and the ground conditions. Very hit and miss in my dirt running in 12hz but the frequency switch is pretty reliable. A few will slip through but that even happens with an FBS machine.

i set the silencer up to +3 i run in deus fast gets rid of the bottlecaps mostly for me

I use the wiggle method and check with the XY Screen. Coin = straight line Bottle Cap = curvy all over the screen line.
