Safari a dime magnet?

Have any of you noticed how good the Safari seems to hit on dimes? Yesterday found close to $2.50 in change (clad) at a state park and along with finding just 3 quarters, found an amazing 16 dimes, plus the usual assortment of pennies which I try not to dig at more modern sites. Some detectors are known as nickel magnets (better on gold), guess the Safari can be known as a dime magnet (better on silver). Dug one 40 signal which turned out to be a small rusted Master lock.

My Quattro does pretty good on dimes, but I have to say that it does well with the nickle also. I just pulled out a nickle down 7 or 8 inches. I can't wait until I dig up a gold ring.

The Safari does very well on dimes, quarters and of course pennies. Nickels I do not do as well on because all too often I have those lower numbers discriminated out. I know, I could be missing out on some good stuff by doing that too. :surrender:

Yep, it is a dime magnet!! A dime always comes up at 38 on my Safari and once in a great while bounces from 39 to 38. I'm always looking for gold and silver coins and jewellery, rings being my primary targets so I always dig 38's and 39's so I do get a ton of dimes and the lower numbers for the gold i.e. from +2 to +24 and +31-+35 for the lower KT rings because they can also be gold (because of the higher content of copper) HH
