Safari Custom Setting Problem?

New member
I am not sure if I have a problem or not with my safari, maybe someone out there can help. If I change a factory setting in any of the 4 pre-programmed modes the safari makes that change in all 4 modes! If I am in coin mode and change the factory default sensitivity from auto to 18 and then switch to relic mode the sensitivity is 18 not the default auto for relic mode. Is this how it is supposed to work or does my safari detector have a problem? Also should I get a * when changing sensitivity, threshold etc and not saving it or only when changing discrimination. If I change sensitivity and do not save it I do not get a * if I change discrimination and do not save it I do get a *. I thought you should get a * whenever you change anything that is not a factory default.

I think that is how it is suppose to be. I set my sensitivity and switch back and forth. I set it for the ground I am working on, not the program I am working in. At least that is how I interpret it. Someone more knowledgeable then I will chime in if I have it wrong. We all just want to understand our machines as best we can to get the most out of them and the ground!
Good question, made me stop and think!

tpalmieri,

You're sensitivity, threshold, trash density, contrast, target volume settings will be the same in all four modes until you make changes
in each within the menu.
You will get the * symbol when you change the discrimination pattern but not saved. You will not get the * symbol on sensitivity,
threshold, trash density, contrast, and target volume settings.
