I found these with the Safari and an 8" ML coil or the 10 X 12 SEF. Believe it or not, the silver ring hit the hardest at about 8 inches.....Best to all, Richard

Richard,

Any thoughts on the SEF coil? Any advantages over the stock coil? Have you tried the larger sizes?

Two relic hunting buddies of mine are using the 12 x 15 SEF coils on their MXTs and are smoking the rest of us for deep signals. I am considering getting the 12 x 15 for my Safari but would like some opinions first.

Thanks,
Tom Henrique

I've never had a problem with depth on the regular 11" coil on my Safari. I've found that anything larger is a real pain in the a--, well, arm. Seems to throw everything out of balance and hurts my arm and back after just a little bit. Comparing the Quattro or the Safari with the MXT is apples and oranges from what I have been able to ascertain. I have seen too many posts the other way around . Maybe it's just getting the coil in the right spot more than the equipment? Onus

Richard thanks for the Safari
Turning out to be best detector I have had since the Compass X100. I only say that because I had X100 for about 10 years.
Your doing fine with yours. That is some good detecting.
I am having trouble pinpointing with the 11" coil. I liked the 6" coil on other detectors. I was wondering if you have used a 6" coil on your Safari?
Good hunting Richard and HH....Z/Jer
