Safari Goes Deep at the Beach

The week before last I had to travel to Maine for work, so I put the Safari in the suitcase just in case the weather would be good enough to hunt. Luckily last Saturday the sun came out and temperature was supposed to be around 50. Since my flight didn't leave until 5:00 pm, I drove down to Old Orchard Beach around 9:00 am. There was one guy out in the wet sand swinging a Sovereign, nice local guy, Norm. I said hello and since he was heading one way, I headed the other. In less than five minutes of swinging I, got a bouncy reading near the upper twenty range. I scooped down close to 12" and saw round gold in the bottom of the scoop. Turned out to be a 5.3 gram 18K mens wedding band, worth about $145. Later I found the silver earring and a fair amount of clad with plenty of poptops. The Safari ran smooth at sensitivity of 18.

Those are great machines. I've had one since last summer and I find coins civil war relics jewelery and the normal junk. Congratulations on your finds.HH:minelab:

Been on the beach with mine also. It really is a deep machine for sure, found a kastmaster fishing lure at 18". Bought a big scoop this year the kind you can really put your foot on and go deep. And deep it does go. I have yet to find a gold ring at the beach using the safari, but I'm sure it will happen. Found gold and platinum in the past with my White's xlt. Keep up the good finds Bart. Congrats and thanks for posting a pic with your story. Ron
