safari or 705

I am having problems finding rings gold the 705 has a gold mode is it better for finding gold than the safari.Because the safari hits gold at the same numbers as trash pull tabs and i have to dig all the trash to hope for a ring any suggestions because it is frustrating digging tabs non stop

You are confusing some things. The 705 has a prospecting mode. This is for nugget hunting. Not for ring hunting. Although it could detect a ring in prospecting it would not be practical to hunt in that mode. The Safari does its best to identify what is in the ground. The same as all modern discriminating detectors. It can not identify only jewelry and stay silent on the junk like pull tabs. No detector can do this. If one detector could do that there would not be a use for any other. To find rings and jewelry you have to dig junk. If you are in a place where there is just too many tabs you can notch them out if your detector has that feature. But then you will also be notching out some rings.

n/t

With the price of gold, maybe someone will build a unit to cherry pick gold rings. At this point I don't think no one has figured a easy way to find rings without a lot of trash digging.

Rings are worth the extra trash to dig...

The first diamond ring or platinum you dig will make all the hurt go away, trust me...

Stay at the beach since your in NJ. Dont forget the old swimming places lie the creek, lakes, etc...
