Safari questions ferrous vs conductive sounds and programs

OK one thing I have been confused about when reading up on my incoming Safari is the two different sounds. The manual says that the coin and coin and jewelry programs use conductive tones and the relic and all metal mode use ferrous tones. Not to sound stupid but what does that really mean and why would I prefer one over another when detecting. When I listen to you tube on the safari or Quattro I can not real hear any different sounds - low conductors sound low and high conductors sound high. So would someone please enlighten this confused girl on these tones.

Also does anyone have some programs they have saved that they recommend. From watching videos it does seem that a lot of good and bad targets hit in the same area the only program change I see over and over is notching out 40 to get rid of big iron falling high. So any other suggestions for setting up the programs.

P.S. I will be hunting parks and fields mostly at first.

If at parks coin shooting my program in coin mode is 13-15 open 16-30 closed and 40 closed. This will let you get any clads and silver coin signals. I also use sensitivity mostly in auto at parks or 14 or 15 in manual if not real trashy

I like to use conductive sounds . Using high trash ,Put a gold ring and a dime on the ground 6 inches apart and swing over both directions in coin (conductive) and then relic (ferrous). U should hear 2 sounds while the readout may show one number or the other depending on direction. I can hear the difference better with conductive. U may prefer ferrous sounds. I cross save a program from all metal nothing blocked to coin jewelry so it is handy to switch and check numbers and sound are appropiate without having to reach across for button. Doing it that way there is no reason to block anything. Just verify before u dig . I don't block pultabs as I will dig if there are not to many in a localized area. If I find 5 tabs in a few feet I know the 6 th of the 6 pack and some buried cans will be the next targets. Blocking pultabs will block some gold . I will never get rich finding clad, I must hope to find gold rings and jewelry to pay for this hobby.
