Metal detecting in a tot lot recently, I had an (imaginary) 'conversation' with my Safari....
Safari..hey there, did you just hear that tone I just gave you?
Me.............No? not really!
Safari.........well, sweep my coil again over that patch to the left
Me............(reluctantly)! ok but I'd rather get going on the other areas
Safari.......Ok NOW did you hear that same tone?!!!
Me............yeah yeah yeah I guess I did hear something
Safari.......well dummy...dig!!!
Me........... (facetiously) this better be a good target, something like a diamond ring or at least a piece of gold jewellery, I guess I'll settle for silver ok...don't let me down alright?
Safari.......when have I ever let you down?
Me............I guess never!
Me............wow, look at this.....it's not gold......it's not silver but IF IT WAS, it would be in my hand right now!
Safari.......I told you!!
Me...........yep, you did...thanks again 'ole buddy!!!
Me...........NOW take me to where that diamond ring is ok!?
I'm sure this has happened to all of us many times....obviously not a real conversation..I'm not that crazy...yet! but how many times have we heard a tone and sifted through the soil, bark, leaves, sand etc and come across a very small piece of metal and been surprised at how sensitive our metal detector was? I am constantly amazed at how small of a target, my Safari can detect and just like in the imaginary conversation, if it had been a gold or silver target, it certainly would be "in my hand"!!! The pic shows just one of those little peices of metal that I detected that precipitated this post.
