Safari tones.

Mick in Dubbo

New member
I just watched the Tex Kinsey clip om utube. Is it my imagination, or does the Safari sound suspiciously like an Explorer?
My old Explorer is near the end of it's service life and I was hoping to replace it with an SE when it dies, but it appears that the SE is no longer available. If that's the case, then perhaps if the Safari has the same tones, then it might be a good choice.

Hi Mick, Minelab is going to keep the Explorer SE Pro in the lineup. But the Safari is a nice change from the Quattro with the much faster uprocessor implemented. Ok be safe Mick.

Thanks Tom.
I looked on every Aussie website that I could get my hands on 2 days back and the SE was removed from every one of them; so I assumed that it was discontinued. When the E-Trac came out I thought that Andy Sabisch had indicated that they would take the SE out of production early this year.
It's good to hear that they are keeping it in the line up. It's too good to let go.

Hi Mick, I think Minelab realizes it too. But my sales rep in Las Vegas assured me that it will stay in the lineup. Some will stay with the Explorer no doubt. I still have the Explorer SE Pro on my website Mick. Ok I will wish you good hunting and be safe.

At the moment,, If you look on ebay,,, They have a couple really nice, barely used SE for sale.... You may want to take a look!!!

Mick,

Never said that nor inferred that . . . . the Explorer is not an E-Trac and the two will stay in the line for the foreseeable future. There are some that prefer the Explorer and some that prefer the E-Trac . . . both are great detectors and both do things a little differently so choose the one that meets your needs and matches your hunting styles.

Andy.
I remember the comment being made shortly after the E-trac came out. I was fairly sure that you had said it, but going over your posts at the time confirms that you didn't. My apologies for that. I must have crossed my wires somewhere.
I'm happy to hear that both detectors will continue in the line up as they each have their appeal. My XS is still going at the moment, but the screen is often showing 2 lots of information on it at the same time. Mostly on the sides, but an indicator that it won't last that much longer. I'll be replacing it after it has given up the ghost, with another FBS detector. I'm keeping my options open on which one. They each have their for and against.
Good luck with the book.
Mick Evans.
